Itinerary Highlights Explained

Gradual riding, adapted to the plateau rhythm

The altitude climbs slowly throughout the entire journey, gradually transitioning from 2,000 meters in western Yunnan to 3,650 meters in eastern Tibet. The self-driving road section and duration are scientifically planned to reduce the probability of altitude sickness. The self-driving adventure experience is more comfortable and can be easily adapted by novices.

Yunnan-Tibet Scenery, changing views at every turn

From the picturesque lake and mountain scenery of Erhai Lake to the majestic and perilous Tiger Leaping Gorge, and then to the snow-capped mountains and turquoise waters of Ranwu Lake, and the thrilling grandeur of the Nujiang 72 Bends, this route connects the water towns of Western Yunnan with the snow-covered lands of Eastern Tibet, unlocking the ultimate beauty of diverse natural landscapes.

Cultural fusion, encountering Yunnan-Tibet charm

Explore unique ancient villages such as Dali Old Town and Dukezong Ancient Town, discover thousand-year-old salt fields and Tibetan architecture, encounter the diverse cultures of the Naxi, Tibetan, and other ethnic groups, and finally enter the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa to immerse yourself in the profound religious heritage of Tibet.

Riding the core section of the Yunnan-Tibet Highway, challenging classic passes such as the Nujiang 72 Turn, crossing Hongla Mountain, and passing through the Lancang River and Jinsha River Grand Canyon, the road conditions are rich and varied, combining self-driving challenges and landscape enjoyment.
