It starts from Chengdu and goes along the G318 classic national highway through the hinterland of western Sichuan and eastern Tibet, directly to the holy city of Lhasa, and then goes deep into the Everest base camp.

The total distance is approximately 3,200 kilometers. The altitude of the trip climbs gently from 500 meters to 5,200 meters, scientifically adapting to the rhythm of plateau adaptation. The entire journey is equipped with a pilot, support vehicle, medical oxygen, and a full set of procedures.

A visual feast of extreme landforms

From the emerald green basin of Chengdu to the gateway to the snow-capped mountains of Kangding, from the quiet blue ice of Ranwu Lake to the wild curves at the 72 corners of the Nujiang River. This route is centered on forests, canyons, glaciers and wastelands, and each mile is a national geographical expanse.


The honor of challenging the top of the world

The journey ends at Everest Base Camp. We will cross the Gaula Pass at 5,210 meters across the territory and see five 8,000-meter snow peaks at the same time. Sleeping at the foot of the world's highest peak is the most glorious medal in a self-driving explorer's life.

Days 1-4: Set off from western Sichuan to Tibet to adapt

Day 1|Arrive in Chengdu (assembly day)
Explorers from all over the world arrive in Chengdu to check-in, vehicle handover and pre-departure procedures, attend briefing sessions, inspect equipment and vehicles, and make comprehensive preparations before setting off on the plateau.

Day 2|Chengdu → Kangding (330km)
Starting from the Chengdu Plain, head west along the Yakang Expressway, gradually rising in altitude, and officially entering the Western Sichuan Plateau. In the evening, we arrived at Kangding, the "hometown of love songs" and the gateway to Kham District. As the temperature cooled down, the self-driving team’s magnificent journey officially kicked off.

Day 3|Kangding → Cuopugou (390km)
Climb Zheduo Mountain (the first pass of Kham) at an altitude of 4,298 meters, walk through Xindu Bridge, the "Photographer's Paradise", and enjoy the pastoral songs of changing light and shadow along the way. Continue westward across Litang along G318, and arrive at Cuopugou, known as the "Secret Wonderland of Western Sichuan" in the evening, where you can quietly enjoy the beautiful picture of alpine Haizi intertwined with virgin forests.

Day 4|Cuopugou→Mangkang Rumei (200km)

Cycling over the mountain passes, crossing the Jinsha River, officially entering Tibet, and arriving at Rumei Town, Mangkang, completing the crossing of the geographical boundary between Sichuan and Tibet, and the scenery transitioning from the western Sichuan Plateau to the eastern Tibetan canyon style.

Days 5-8: Traveling through eastern Tibet to the holy city of Lhasa

Day 5 | Mangkang Rumei → Ranwu (380 km)

Challenge the core section of the Sichuan-Tibet Line, cross the two high-altitude passes of Jueba Mountain and Dongda Mountain, pass through the Lancang River Grand Canyon, and arrive at Ranwu Lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. You can enjoy the clear blue of the plateau holy lake and the stunning scenery.

Day 6 | Ranwu → Lulang (280 km)

Pass by the world-class Midui Glacier, experience the majesty of the glacier up close, cross the thrilling and spectacular 72 turns of the Nujiang River, accompanied by forests and streams all the way, arrive at Lulang, the "Jiangnan of Tibet", and enjoy the pastoral healing scenery.

Day 7|Lulang → Basongcuo (190 km)

Driving in the dense forest sea of ​​​​Eastern Tibet, with fresh air and broad vision, we arrived at Basongcuo, the holy lake of the Red Sect. The lake is as green as emerald and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Feel the tranquility and sanctity of the holy lake on the plateau.

Day 8 | Basongcuo → Lhasa (360 km)

Drive smoothly along the Lin-La Expressway Landscape Highway, passing through the Niyang River Valley, with snow-capped mountains, forests, and countryside appearing alternately along the way, all the way to the holy city of Lhasa, completing the main line of Sichuan-Tibet self-driving, and unlocking important milestones in life.

Days 9-11: The Holy City’s expedition to Mount Everest

Day 9|A full day off in Lhasa

Take a rest and tour in Lhasa throughout the day, visit the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street to deeply experience the religious and cultural atmosphere of Tibet. At the same time, you will comprehensively overhaul and maintain your vehicles to reserve your physical strength and vehicle condition for the Mount Everest section.

Day 10 | Lhasa → Shigatse (360 km)

Head west from Lhasa, ride along the Brahmaputra River, cross the Houzang grassland and river valley landforms, and arrive at Shigatse, the center of Houzang, experience the Houzang customs that are different from Lhasa, and prepare for the sprint to Mount Everest.

Day 11 | Shigatse → Everest Base Camp (350 km)

Heading towards the top of the world, ride to the Gaura Pass Observation Deck, overlook 5 8,000-meter snow peaks at one time, fill the visual feast, and then arrive at the Everest Base Camp to look up at the majesty of Mount Everest up close.

Days 11-14: The return trip to Mount Everest ended successfully

Day 12 | Everest Base Camp → Shigatse (350 km)

In the early morning, wait for the wonders of Mount Everest in Rizhao Jinshan and feel the ultimate shock on the roof of the world. Then ride back along the original route, return to Shigatse to rest, and reminisce about the shock and emotion brought by Mount Everest.

Day 13 | Shigatse → Lhasa (280 km)

The return trip was smooth along the Brahmaputra River Valley, accompanied by grasslands, snow-capped mountains, and river valleys along the way. The road conditions were comfortable and smooth, and the smooth return to Lhasa was a successful conclusion to the 14 Tianchuan-Tibet Everest ride.

Day 14 | Drop off at Lhasa and the trip is over

After handling vehicle return and follow-up procedures, sorting out travel memories, and sending them to the airport by private car, the 14-day motorcycle self-driving trip from Chengdu to Everest Base Camp came to a successful conclusion.
